Dairy producer Aria does not rule out raising prices for its products, including cheese, citing higher fuel costs as one of the main factors putting pressure on prices. The company’s production director, Ana Gamgebeli, made the comments on TV-program Women’s Narrative.
According to Gamgebeli, Aria has changed its prices only three times since the brand was established, with each adjustment linked to an increase in fuel costs. She said fuel affects not only the cost of transporting finished products but also the expenses of farmers supplying milk to the company.
“Everything needs transportation, and everything depends on fuel,” Gamgebeli said, adding that higher costs for milk suppliers ultimately increase the company’s production expenses.
She said Aria may have to review its prices again if pressure from fuel costs continues and market prices fail to stabilize. The company has not yet determined a specific percentage increase, saying any decision will depend on changes in operating costs, including fuel prices.
