Chair of Armenia’s Tourism Committee, Lusine Gevorgyan, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, Eric de Muynck, to discuss the development of tourism relations between the two countries.
During the meeting on December 11, the parties addressed key topics such as tourism flow statistics, visa policies, and air connectivity. Ambassador de Muynck presented programs initiated by the Belgian Embassy in Armenia and shared plans to increase Belgium’s visibility among Armenian tourists.
Gevorgyan commended Belgium's efforts to expand tourism cooperation and emphasized the Armenian Tourism Committee's readiness to support all planned initiatives within its capacity.
The two sides agreed to continue collaborative efforts to strengthen tourism ties between Armenia and Belgium.
Previously, BMG reported that Armenia welcomed 2,079,381 foreign tourists in the first 11 months of 2024, compared to 2,195,288 visitors during the same period in 2023. This marks a decline of 121,907 visitors or 5.5%. The majority of tourists traditionally came from Russia, Georgia, and Iran.
