Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashinyan, who arrived in Cairo on an official visit on March 5, held a meeting with Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, during which the two leaders discussed a range of issues related to the implementation of joint new projects in the fields of economy, infrastructure, tourism, aviation, high technology, agriculture, environment, education, and culture.
According to the press service of the Armenian government, Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of expanding and deepening trade and economic cooperation and underscored the necessity of developing business ties to realize the existing potential.
The leaders also discussed issues related to the ongoing processes in the regions of the South Caucasus and the Middle East. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening peace and stability and implementing consistent steps in this direction.
It is reported that after the meeting, a memorandum of understanding on economic cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Economy of Armenia and the Ministry of International Cooperation of Egypt.
Additionally, the Ministry of Economy of Armenia and the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation signed a plan for the implementation of scientific and technical cooperation in the field of agriculture for the period from 2024 to 2026.
Another significant outcome of the ceremony was the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of environmental protection between the ministries of environment of the two countries.
