Armenia and Georgia Among Top International Destinations for Russians During New Year Holidays

Armenia and Georgia have ranked among the top ten most popular international travel destinations for Russians during the New Year holidays. Armenia secured fourth place with a 7% share of all booked flight tickets, while Georgia claimed eighth place with 5%.

According to a study by the travel service Aviasales, cited by TASS, 29% of Russian travelers chose to spend the New Year holidays abroad this year, a 4-percentage-point increase compared to last year. Leading the list of destinations were Thailand (11%), Uzbekistan (10%), and Turkey (8%).

Notably, demand for trips to Georgia has risen by 23% compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, Armenia continues to maintain steady popularity among Russian tourists, remaining one of the most sought-after destinations for holiday travel.

On average, Russians plan to spend about 10 days on their New Year vacations, although for some Asian destinations, the duration reaches up to 17 days. Additionally, 12% of all bookings are made by travelers with children, with the UAE, Thailand, and Vietnam being the most family-oriented destinations.
