The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) announced that it, together with Georgia, has submitted a bid to host the FIFA 2029 Youth World Cup.
According to FFA President Armen Melikbekyan, the decision to submit the bid was made after discussions with various football organizations, including UEFA, which expressed support for hosting the youth tournament in Armenia and Georgia.
If FIFA approves the bid, Armenia plans to build two stadiums - one in the Lori region and another near the cities of Dilijan and Ijevan.
The preliminary plan involves using four stadiums in Armenia to host matches of the tournament, including the Republican Stadium in Yerevan.
Additionally, construction of the National Stadium in Akademgorodok is planned to commence in the near future.
