On November 11, high-level political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Hungary took place in Budapest, marking the first official discussions since diplomatic relations were renewed. The Armenian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan, while the Hungarian delegation was headed by State Secretary Péter Sztáray.

The primary focus of the talks was on expanding economic and trade cooperation between Armenia and Hungary. Both sides explored opportunities to strengthen the bilateral agenda, underscoring the importance of developing a robust legal framework to support future collaboration. In addition to trade, both parties identified sectors such as culture, education, and tourism as potential areas for growth, reflecting mutual interest in deepening ties across multiple fields.

A significant part of the discussions centered around Armenia's expanding partnership with the European Union, with particular emphasis on economic projects and collaboration with Hungarian counterparts. Hovhannisyan emphasized Armenia’s commitment to aligning with EU standards and fostering a stronger economic partnership that could benefit both countries.

Hovhannisyan also provided an update on Armenia's ongoing peace initiatives in the South Caucasus, including recent progress in Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and the “Crossroads of Peace” project, an initiative by the Armenian government aimed at enhancing regional stability and connectivity.
