Armenia and India discuss the construction of a copper smelting plant

The Ministry of Economy of Armenia reports that Minister Gevorg Papoyan met with the Indian Ambassador to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha.

The parties discussed the development of Armenian-Indian trade and economic relations and the expansion of cooperation in the fields of agriculture and industry. Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan proposed considering the possibility of constructing a copper smelting plant in Armenia using advanced Indian technologies.

Gevorg Papoyan also expressed interest in deepening cooperation in the jewelry sector and representing Armenia at jewelry exhibitions in India with a national pavilion.

He emphasized the importance of the chemical and metallurgical industries for Armenia and invited Indian companies to cooperate within the framework of "Green Chemistry" projects.

The significance of organizing international and specialized exhibitions and business forums to stimulate cooperation between the business communities of the two countries was also discussed. Special attention was given to the "Crossroads of the World" project, which could become a key element of regional and international economic cooperation.

The interlocutors noted the importance of continuing and deepening bilateral interaction, which contributes to strengthening economic ties between Armenia and India.
