Armenia and Kazakhstan to hold intergovernmental commission meeting and business forum

Armenia's minister of economy Gevorg Papoyan held a meeting with Kazakhstan's Ambassador, Bolat Imanbayev, on March 11th.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the parties discussed preparations for the upcoming 10th session of the Armenian-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Issues and the organization of a bilateral business forum. They also touched upon the upcoming visit of the president of Kazakhstan to Armenia.

Papoyan emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties between the two countries and increasing trade volumes.

Interestingly, in 2023, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Kazakhstan increased by 2.4 times, reaching $100.5 million. During this period, exports grew by 3.8 times, reaching $71.3 million, while imports increased by 23.6%, amounting to $29.2 million.

Earlier, it was announced that the president of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev plans to visit Armenia in the near future. In mid-February, Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan discussed the preparation for the visit of the Kazakh president with Ambassador Bolat Imanbayev.
