On June 18, Armenia's Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with a delegation led by Malta's Minister of Economy and Industry, Silvio Schembri. Deputy Ministers Arman Khojoyan and Narek Ovakyamyan also attended the meeting.
Gevorg Papoyan emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties between Armenia and Malta, stating, "Armenia and Malta have great potential for cooperation in the economic sphere, and steps need to be taken to achieve positive outcomes in this direction."
The minister noted that the meeting provided an excellent opportunity to discuss mutual interests, exchange views on expanding trade and investment, and explore potential partnerships in various economic sectors, according to the Ministry's press service.
During the meeting, opportunities for bilateral cooperation in several key areas were reviewed, including high technology, digitalization, agriculture, trade, and tourism.
Discussing the government's peace agenda, Gevorg Papoyan highlighted the possible economic benefits and the importance of the "Crossroads of Peace" program for establishing stable and lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
Both parties expressed their readiness to further develop cooperation and implement joint projects that could contribute to economic growth and strengthen relations between the two countries.
