On April 28, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan met with Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al-Thani, Deputy Director of Investments at the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Qatar, to discuss matters related to economic ties.

According to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs press service, the meeting took place within the framework of the official visit of Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to Qatar.

In particular, deputy minister Kostanyan presented factors contributing to Armenia's economic attractiveness and projects initiated by the Armenian government, along with investment opportunities.

The "Crossroads of Peace" project, developed by the Armenian government, was extensively discussed. The Armenian side believes that this project could best serve the long-term goal of connecting the countries of the Persian Gulf with the Black Sea.

The participants also discussed matters related to expanding the involvement of Qatari companies in trade, infrastructure development, agriculture, and other potential sectors.

Earlier, BMG reported that in late October 2023, Armenia presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project, which essentially is the Armenian version of a project aimed at unlocking communications in the region after the 44-day war. From Yerevan's point of view, this is one of the components of the process of establishing a durable peace in the South Caucasus, and if implemented, it could change Armenia's status, helping it to emerge from isolation and become a logistical hub in the region.
