On the sidelines of the Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels on March 21 Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the president of the European Council Charles Michel.

According to the Armenian government's press service, the discussions revolved around cooperation between Armenia and the EU.

"There was an exchange of views on the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process, emphasizing the importance of implementing the agreements reached during the trilateral meetings between the President of the European Council, the Prime Minister of Armenia, and the President of Azerbaijan held in Brussels on May 14 and July 15, 2023," the statement said.

It is noted that according to these agreements, Armenia and Azerbaijan mutually recognize each other's territorial integrity based on the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991.

"Also, the delimitation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be carried out based on the Alma-Ata Declaration, and the opening of regional infrastructure will occur under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries based on the principles of reciprocity and equality," the statement said.

The prime minister of Armenia reaffirmed the commitment of the Armenian government to these agreements and presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project.

In late October 2023, Armenia presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project, which essentially serves as the Armenian version of a project aimed at unblocking communications in the region following the 44-day war. From Yerevan's perspective, this is one of the components of the process of establishing a durable peace in the South Caucasus, and if implemented, it could alter Armenia's status, assisting it in breaking out of isolation and becoming a logistical hub in the region.
