Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff to the Armenian Prime Minister, held a meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, to discuss initiating a dialogue on visa liberalization and advancing institutional reforms in Armenia.
During the meeting on November 27, Harutyunyan highlighted the dynamic nature of Armenia-EU relations and underscored the EU’s consistent support for institutional transformations in the country. The discussions focused on joint programs to enhance capacity building across various sectors and on the EU's assistance in developing a new strategic communication framework.
The two sides also exchanged views on economic cooperation between Armenia and the EU and reviewed ongoing projects. The meeting reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening the partnership and implementing collaborative initiatives.
Earlier, BMG reported that the European Union is launching a major support program for Armenia, titled "Resilience and Development," with a budget of €270 million over four years. Additionally, targeted grants for judicial reform and education are planned for 2025.
The EU’s financial assistance aims to bolster Armenia’s economic growth and resilience. It includes investments in Armenian businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, to help them expand and access new markets.
