Considering the growing nature and dynamics of bilateral relations, Armenia hopes to elevate its strategic dialogue with the USA to the level of a new Strategic Partnership Commission. This was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during the final session of the Armenia-USA Strategic Dialogue on June 11, attended by U.S. Deputy Secretary of State James O'Brien.

Mirzoyan noted that the parties have effectively cooperated within the framework of three working groups established under the Armenia-USA Strategic Dialogue, holding relevant meetings throughout 2023. He highlighted the main areas of sectoral cooperation.

The first area is economic cooperation, which, according to the minister, is "growing." "Today, we will discuss issues of further trade liberalization within the framework of the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement between Armenia and the USA. This can lead to greater prosperity for Armenia, new opportunities for economic development, and increased resilience," said Mirzoyan.

Mirzoyan expressed confidence that there are additional mechanisms and effective tools to support the diversification of the economy, which will also be discussed.

Given the current challenges, the Armenian Foreign Minister highlighted energy diversification as the next area, which he said is also an important component of the Armenia-USA agenda. "We will also review the work already done and the prospects for cooperation in the field of nuclear energy and renewable energy sources," the minister said.

The minister emphasized the importance of defense cooperation, including the Eagle Partner 2023 exercises conducted in 2023. "Armenia is interested in exploring further opportunities for the country's defense transformation," the minister assured.

The fourth area is judicial and public administration reforms, as well as Armenia's commitment to strengthening democratic institutions. These reforms are aimed at creating a more robust, secure, and progressive environment for citizens. According to Mirzoyan, significant progress has already been achieved, with tangible and visible results.
