On July 8, the 6th meeting of the EAEU Industrial Policy Council was held in Yekaterinburg under the chairmanship of Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.
“It is important to develop common mechanisms aimed at supporting the industrial sector, stimulating innovation, technological modernization, and enhancing product competitiveness,” Gevorg Papoyan noted in his welcome speech, according to the press service of the Ministry of Economy.
The meeting discussed key directions for industrial cooperation within the EAEU framework until 2030. The agenda included topics such as the development of robotics, the creation of an interstate program for the production and implementation of industrial robots, and financial support for joint cooperative projects in EAEU industries.
A protocol of the meeting was signed at the conclusion of the session.
Armenia joined the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in January 2015.
Within the framework of the EAEU, the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor is guaranteed, as well as the implementation of a coordinated or unified economic policy. These measures are defined by the Treaty on the EAEU dated May 29, 2014, and international agreements within the Union.
