Armenian minister of economy Gevorg Papoyan stated that the volume of foreign direct investments in Armenia for the period from January to September 2023 amounted to approximately $360 million.
He made this announcement on Monday, March 25, at an extraordinary meeting of the permanent parliamentary committee on Eurasian and regional integration, where the report on the progress and results of the implementation of the Armenian government's program for 2023 was discussed.
However, Papoyan also noted that the net inflow of foreign direct investments from the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) during the same period amounted to about $58 million.
"During the period from January to September 2023, the net inflow of foreign investments into the real sector of the Armenian economy reached approximately $278 million," Papoyan added.
According to him, in 2022, the net inflow of foreign investments into the real sector of the Armenian economy amounted to $451.5 million, with $364 million of them coming from EAEU member countries, mainly from Russia.
"For the same period, foreign direct investments amounted to $417 million, including a net inflow of foreign direct investments from EAEU member countries reaching $250 million," explained the Minister of Economy.
