Armenia discusses efficient land and water resource management with the World Bank

On Tuesday, May 21, Armenia's Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan met with a World Bank delegation led by the head of the Armenian office Carolin Geginat.

The delegation also included Sameh Wahba, the World Bank's Regional Director for Sustainable Development in Europe and Central Asia.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the meeting covered national policies and development prospects in the fields of agriculture, green economy, and tourism in Armenia.

Special attention was given to issues of efficient land and water resource management, the development and application of green taxonomy, the growth of agricultural tourism, and the creation of tourist clusters.

Arman Khojoyan highly appreciated the cooperation with the World Bank and expressed readiness to continue joint work in the indicated areas for the effective achievement of the set goals.

Earlier, BMG reported that the World Bank's Board of Executive Directors approved a Development Policy Operation (DPO) for Armenia amounting to $116 million. These funds are allocated to support reforms aimed at developing a green, sustainable, and inclusive economy.
