Tornike Tokhadze, CEO of IT and digital transformation company SkyHigh, says the strong growth of Georgia’s IT sector is mainly driven by firms serving international markets. Increasingly, local companies are also shifting their focus toward global clients as demand for technology services continues to rise worldwide.

Despite this positive momentum, Tokhadze notes that Georgia still lags behind some regional competitors. Armenia, in particular, is advancing at a faster pace and generates significantly higher revenue from IT service exports. According to him, Armenia earns roughly 35–40% more from IT services annually than Georgia.

Tokhadze adds that although Georgia’s growth rates appear high in percentage terms, the sector’s total revenue has yet to reach USD 1 billion. He also explains that international demand remains the primary engine of growth, but Georgia needs further development to match regional leaders.

SkyHigh itself is working on several international projects, though the company’s main priority remains maximizing the local market’s potential. Tokhadze says they will continue investing in skills, resources, and capacity. Meanwhile, Georgia’s IT sector generated a record USD 791 million in the first nine months of 2025 - 66% more than the previous year.
