During her visit to Yerevan on November 19, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock held discussions on expanding Armenia’s cooperation with the European Union. The talks with her Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan, covered ongoing projects and plans for future collaboration.
According to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministers emphasized that the new partnership agenda between Armenia and the EU builds on their existing cooperation while envisioning significant engagement in new areas. Special attention was given to mechanisms and tools for deepening relations, with the Armenian side expressing high appreciation for Germany’s role in fostering dialogue with the EU.
In the context of regional stability, the ministers addressed the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Mirzoyan highlighted Armenia’s "constructive position" on unblocking regional communications, which could serve as a key factor in enhancing economic cooperation both within the region and with European partners.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to developing collaboration based on shared democratic values and mutual interests across various fields.
