The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has approved tariff quotas for the import of beef, pork, poultry meat, and whey for the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) for 2025. Armenia's quotas were also determined.
Vahagn Kazaryan, head of the EEC's Department of Customs Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation, noted that these restrictions are imposed considering the consumption and production balances in the member states, as well as their obligations to the WTO.
According to the EEC's decision, the import tariff quotas for Armenia in 2025 are as follows:
- Beef and veal: 9.5 thousand tons
- Pork: 9.4 thousand tons
- Poultry meat: 35.1 thousand tons
- Whey: 0.7 thousand tons
These quotas allow Armenia to import essential types of meat and dairy products in quantities sufficient to cover the gap between domestic production and consumption.
It should be noted that similar quotas have been established for other EAEU countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan.
