In 2024, the volume of electricity exports from Armenia to Iran surpassed the average annual figures of previous years, reaching over 370 million kilowatt-hours.
Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Gnel Sanosyan reported a significant increase in electricity exports to Iran. Speaking on November 5 during the parliamentary budget discussions for 2025, he noted that current export levels have already exceeded Armenia’s usual annual export volume.
"In previous years, Armenia typically exported 360–370 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to Iran annually. However, in 2024, we have already surpassed the 370 million kilowatt-hour mark, and the year is not yet over," the minister emphasized.
