The Armenian government has taken steps to regulate the dairy market. At its December 19 session, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a decision to implement tariff exemptions for the import of butter from member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which includes Armenia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus.

According to the adopted resolution, a preferential regime will apply to the import of 2,000 tons of butter from December 24, 2024, to June 15, 2025. This measure, approved by the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission, aims to support both the domestic market and participants in foreign economic activities.

The initiative is designed to ensure stable butter supplies in Armenia and curb price increases for this essential food product during the holiday season and the first half of the upcoming year.
