Georgia re-exported 63,141 vehicles worth $1.5 billion in the first nine months of 2026, down by $475 million, or 24%, year-on-year.
The decline was driven by lower exports to major markets, including Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan. Kyrgyzstan remained the largest destination, with vehicle exports worth $620 million, down by 39%. Exports to Kazakhstan fell by 41% to $332 million, while shipments to Azerbaijan declined by 12% to $150 million.
Iran emerged as a rapidly growing market, with exports reaching $130 million for 7,380 vehicles, an increase of approximately 18,600% year-on-year. Exports to Armenia rose by 58% to $67 million, while shipments to Turkmenistan increased by 25% to $24 million. Iraq also recorded a sharp increase, with exports reaching $25 million.
The recent decline follows a two-year boom in vehicle re-exports to Kyrgyzstan. The market had benefited from the country’s non-participation in sanctions against Russia, which allowed Kyrgyz dealers to resell imported vehicles to Russia. However, exports along this route have declined in 2026.
