At the sixth meeting of the Armenian-Greek Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation held in Yerevan, the Armenian side called for an increased presence of Greek capital in the country’s economy. This was stated by Armenia’s Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, during a meeting with Greece's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Konstantinos Fragogiannis.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, representatives of the two countries discussed a wide range of areas for developing cooperation on December 17. These areas included investments, trade, industry, small and medium business development, agriculture, healthcare, digitalization, high technologies and science, as well as transport and tourism.
“Meetings of the intergovernmental commission have become an important platform for addressing existing issues and identifying new areas for cooperation. We would like to see a broader presence of Greek capital in Armenia, which would be mutually beneficial for the economies of both countries,” Papoyan emphasized.
As a result of the meeting, a protocol was signed, formalizing the agreements reached on enhancing bilateral economic cooperation.
