Armenia ranks 48th out of 169 countries in the Social Progress Index 2022 having scored 74.8 points out of 100. Of the countries in the region, Georgia ranks 50th, Turkey 88th, Iran 102nd and Azerbaijan 103rd.
As for former Soviet republics, Russia ranks 59th, Belarus 61st, Ukraine 52nd, Kazakhstan 65th, Kyrgyzstan 83rd, Turkmenistan 118th and Uzbekistan 91st.
Leading the ranking of the 2022 Social Progress Index is Norway with a total index score of 90.74. Two other Nordic countries, Denmark and Finland, are second and third in the ranking.
The 2022 Social Progress Index ranks 169 countries on social progress. It combines 60 social and environmental outcome indicators to calculate an overall score for these countries, based on tiered levels of scoring that include measures in health, safety, education, technology, rights, and more, ARKA reports.
