According to the Statistical Committee of Armenia, from January to July 2024, the total electricity generation in the country reached 5.3 billion kilowatt-hours, a 2.8% increase compared to the same period last year.
Thermal power plants (TPPs) produced 2 billion kWh, a 9.6% decrease from the previous year. The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant increased its output by 6.1%, reaching 1.4 billion kWh. Hydropower plants (HPPs) showed significant growth, generating 1.2 billion kWh, a 13.5% rise.
Solar power plants saw the highest growth, with a 29.8% increase, producing 582.5 million kWh. Wind power plants, despite the overall positive trend, reduced their output by 39.2%, generating 0.8 million kWh.
