A bill aimed at strengthening control over the export of sensitive goods by air to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was discussed at a meeting of the Armenian Parliament's Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.

Artur Manukyan, Deputy Head of the State Revenue Committee, presented the proposed amendments to the Administrative Code, which introduce fines for unauthorized export of certain categories of goods by air.

Manukyan explained that while penalties already exist for exports through third countries, there is a legislative gap regarding the export of goods by air.

According to the proposed amendments, exporting sensitive goods without the appropriate authorization would result in a fine of 50% of the value of the goods, but no less than 500,000 drams (approximately $1,300), along with the confiscation of the goods.

It's important to note that "sensitive goods" refer to products characterized by a high level of competition among manufacturers from different EAEU member states. The specific list of such goods will be approved by a decision of the Armenian government.

The EAEU, established based on the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space, includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Armenia joined the union in 2015.
