Over the past three years, the leaders in freight turnover with regions of the Russian Federation have become Turkey, Armenia, and China. For example, shipments from the south of Russia to Turkey increased nearly 17 times, according to the head of the "Transport Services" category at the "Avito Services" platform, Evgenia Lazareva, as reported by TASS.
"The most significant growth in freight transportation over the past three years, from March 2021 to April 2024, occurred between the Southern Federal District and Turkey. Shipments from the south of Russia to Turkey increased nearly 17 times," said Lazareva.
According to her, the second most popular destination was China. "Shipments to China increased 11 times. Demand for freight transportation from the Southern Federal District to Armenia also increased 11 times," noted the agency's interviewee.
Earlier, the Russian government reported that the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Energy, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia are observing high demand for freight transportation along the corridors of Russia-Turkey, Russia-Iran-India, and Russia-China for the period of 2022-2025. As Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin noted at the International Export Forum "Made in Russia - 2023," Russia will continue to work on developing economic cooperation with friendly states.
