During the panel discussion "Prospects of Modern Armenia: Economy, Infrastructure, and Technology," Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan touched upon the topic of Armenian winemaking, according to the Ministry of Economy’s press service.
The minister responded to questions from the participants regarding state economic policy, economic diversification, investment, and tourism.
Speaking about Armenian wine, Papoyan highlighted its successful export to various countries around the world: "Our wine is freely exported to European countries, the USA, and Russia. Why freely? Because we have no issues with quality standards. According to many experts, Armenian wine is on par in quality with wines from many leading countries. In the promotion of Armenian wine, our compatriots in the diaspora can play a very significant role and have a considerable influence."
Additionally, as reported on the ministry’s Facebook page, work has already been completed on the creation of 2,500 hectares of intensive orchards. In the coming years, Armenia plans to expand the area of modern intensive orchards to 8,000 hectares.
