Armenia’s Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, held a meeting with representatives of Wizz Air Group to discuss the low-cost airline’s potential expansion in the Armenian market. The Chair of the Tourism Committee, Lusine Gevorgyan, also attended the meeting.
According to the Ministry of Economy’s press service, the discussions focused on increasing tourist flows to Armenia and developing new flight routes. Special attention was given to expanding cooperation between Wizz Air and the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy.
As a result of the meeting, the minister instructed the airline representatives to develop and present a roadmap with concrete proposals and actions, which will be reviewed and implemented based on priority.
Wizz Air already operates flights from Yerevan to cities such as Rome, Milan, Venice, Budapest, Vienna, Dortmund, Sofia, Larnaca, and Abu Dhabi.
