On Friday, October 18, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan embarked on a working visit to Turkey to participate in the third meeting of the "3+3" regional consultative platform in Istanbul.

The "3+3" platform was established following the end of the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war with the goal of fostering cooperation among six regional countries: Turkey, Russia, Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.

The first meeting in this format at the deputy foreign ministers' level took place in December 2021 in Moscow, followed by a second meeting in October 2023 in Tehran, this time at the level of foreign ministers. Notably, Georgia did not participate in either of these meetings.

According to Turkish broadcaster TRT, at the meeting on October 18 in Istanbul, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is expected to emphasize Ankara’s support for the peace treaty process between Baku and Yerevan.

It is anticipated that the meeting will conclude with a joint statement underscoring the importance of dialogue, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the development of regional economic cooperation.

In addition to participating in the multilateral meeting, the Armenian foreign minister is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks.
