Armenia's antitrust authority has identified potential violations in the country's gasoline market. This was announced by Gegham Gevorgyan, Chairman of the Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition, during a meeting with journalists on July 18.

According to Gevorgyan, preliminary investigations suggest possible abuses by market participants. "There are serious grounds to believe that violations have occurred in the gasoline market. However, we cannot draw definitive conclusions yet as the investigation is still ongoing," explained the commission head.

Gevorgyan also urged caution when evaluating the price situation in the Armenian gasoline market, emphasizing the importance of considering international factors in the analysis of local prices.

"It is not sufficient to simply compare gasoline prices in Armenia with those in other countries. One must take into account exchange prices, transportation costs, and other factors. Only then can we objectively assess whether the price levels in our market are justified," Gevorgyan noted.

Earlier, BMG reported that gasoline prices in Armenia had dropped by 10-11% in recent days. This decrease in fuel prices is a notable change for drivers and could affect overall transportation costs in the country.
