Armenian Government Discusses 2025 Budget Draft: Focus on Spending Efficiency

On Tuesday, September 17, a government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was held to discuss Armenia’s 2025 state budget draft and the country’s fiscal policy.

Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan presented the current economic and budgetary trends, as well as the macroeconomic framework on which the budget draft was based. Special attention was given to sectoral expenditures and the proposed spending limits for various government departments.

The meeting focused on the government's priorities and objectives, the improvement of the tax-to-GDP ratio, and fiscal policy forecasts. Participants exchanged views on the budget draft, raising various questions and suggestions.

Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the need for all government agencies to effectively implement the programs and measures outlined in the budget. Following the meeting, he instructed that the budget draft be refined, taking into account the proposals and comments made.
