Armenian Government Exempts $6.9 Million in Imports for Two Manufacturing Companies from Duties

On September 12, the Armenian government approved applications from "AG IMPEX" and "LA PLAST" for exemption from customs duties as part of their priority investment programs.

"AG IMPEX" plans to use imported equipment to manufacture fastening products, hooks, stands, and similar items. The project involves capital investments of approximately $64,100 for equipment purchases.

The company currently employs 56 people, with an average monthly salary of $944. By 2026, they plan to increase the workforce to 65 employees, with an average salary of $969. The value of the goods eligible for the duty exemption is $64,100, and the customs duty exemption is estimated at $6,410.

"LA PLAST" intends to use imported raw materials to produce polyethylene and polypropylene bags, sacks, and hangers. The company is investing $7.69 million in raw material purchases.

Currently, the company has 110 employees with an average monthly salary of $792. By 2027, they plan to expand the workforce to 140 employees, with an average salary of $949. The value of the goods eligible for the exemption is $6.82 million, and the customs duty exemption is valued at $443,590.
