Armenia's Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan has reported positive signals from some European Union countries regarding increased investment in Armenia.

"For example, French companies are already present in Armenia and are exploring investment opportunities in various sectors, ranging from global clothing brands to infrastructure projects. This is a result of political impetus," emphasized Papoyan.

He also noted that based on political statements by leaders of Armenia and France, a recent meeting was held with a group of French businessmen. "We held a series of business-to-business (B2B) meetings, as well as organized a large event," added Papoyan.

These steps indicate the growing interest of French companies in investing in Armenia and strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

According to official data, the total net inflow of foreign investment into the real sector of the Armenian economy for the year 2023 amounted to $342.5 million, representing a decrease of 31.5% compared to the previous year.

France is among the top five largest investors. Currently, the United Arab Emirates (replacing Russia) is in the first place, Luxembourg has risen to the second place, Canada is in third place, France remains in fourth place, and Switzerland occupies the fifth place.

Russia, Cyprus, and Italy, which previously occupied the top three positions, are now experiencing a negative net inflow of investments, while Georgia, reducing the volume of investments, has moved from the fifth to the sixth position.
