On June 21, Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Sobhani visited a steel plant in Karakert, according to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Economy.
During the visit, the representatives familiarized themselves with the plant's production capabilities, current projects, and future plans.
The plant was constructed in 2021 and became operational in 2023. The total investment in its construction amounted to 5 million dollars, and it currently produces 60 tons of products per day.
The company's plans include expanding the production of rebar and wire, which is expected to attract additional investments of over 7 million dollars.
At present, the plant employs 170 people, but after full-scale production is launched, the number of employees is expected to increase to 250.
