On January 16, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia hosted a meeting between high-ranking Armenian government representatives and the heads of diplomatic missions of EU member states.
According to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussion covered a wide range of topics related to Armenia-EU partnership, including last year’s achievements and future cooperation prospects. Special attention was given to the proposed new Armenia-EU partnership agenda and the implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Participants deliberated on initiating a dialogue on visa liberalization, providing support to Armenia through the European Peace Facility, and the activities of the EU Mission in the country. Security cooperation expansion was another key focus of the discussions.
Head of the European Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Samvel Mkrtchyan, addressed the draft bill on launching Armenia’s EU accession process. He highlighted that the government’s positive assessment aligns with the deepening engagement with the EU and its member states, as well as the European aspirations of Armenian citizens.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional security issues, with Armenian representatives responding to numerous questions from European diplomats.
