In the first half of 2024, Armenia made significant progress in the international passport ranking compiled by the reputable consulting company Henley & Partners.
According to the latest data, the Armenian passport has climbed to the 72nd position, improving its rank by seven places compared to last year.
This impressive rise means that Armenian citizens can now travel visa-free to 62 countries, opening up new opportunities for tourism and business trips.
The Henley & Partners ranking is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and assesses the passports of countries by the number of visa-free destinations available to their citizens.
Singapore topped the ranking this year, with its citizens able to visit an impressive 195 countries visa-free. Following Singapore are five countries tied for second place: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Japan, each offering visa-free access to 192 countries.
Georgia holds the 44th position, with its citizens able to travel visa-free to 122 countries. Azerbaijan is in 69th place (71 countries), while Russia is 45th (116 countries) in the ranking.
At the opposite end of the spectrum are countries with the most limited international travel opportunities. Afghanistan ranks last at 103rd place, followed by Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, and Yemen.
