Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has appointed Lusine Gevorkyan as the new Chair of the Tourism Committee of the Republic.
According to the official government website, the appointment was made in line with Article 9, Section 7 of the "Public Service" law.
Lusine Gevorkyan is a member of the ruling "Civil Contract" party and part of the Yerevan City Council faction of the same name. In her new role, she will oversee the development of Armenia's tourism sector.
The position had been vacant since May 2024, following the departure of Sisian Poghosyan.
