In the first nine months of 2024, Armenia’s state budget shifted from surplus to deficit, despite a rise in revenues to $4.8 billion, as spending growth outpaced revenue gains.
The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia released data on budget execution for the January-September 2024 period.
According to the report, state budget revenues amounted to approximately $4.8 billion (1.86 trillion drams) from January to September 2024, marking a 6.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
Budget expenditures during this period reached around $5 billion (1.93 trillion drams), representing a 15.7% increase over the previous year.
For January-September 2024, the state budget recorded a deficit of approximately $188 million (73 billion drams). In contrast, the same period last year saw a surplus of about $192 million (74.6 billion drams).
