Armenia's Foreign Ministry summoned Tuesday Russia's ambassador to Yerevan Sergey Kopyrkin to hand a note of protest over "insulting and absolutely unacceptable statements" made during a TV program aired by Russia’s state-run Channel One.
"In connection with the October 23, 2023 broadcast of a TV program on the federal Channel One, during which insulting and totally unacceptable statements were voiced against high-ranking officials of the Republic of Armenia, the ambassador of the Russian Federation to Armenia S. P. Kopyrkin was summoned to the Armenian Foreign Ministry and handed a note of protest,’ the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
A talk show on Russia's Channel One criticized Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for his handling of the conflict with Azerbaijan, portraying him as a puppet of the West who seeks to break Armenia's close relations with Russia, ARKA reports.
