Georgia’s wine exports declined by 6% in volume and 0.6% in value during the first nine months of 2026, according to data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
From January through September, Georgia exported $188.7 million worth of wine. Russia remained the dominant destination, accounting for $119.7 million, or 63.4% of total exports. Despite its leading share, wine exports to the Russian market fell by 0.3% year-on-year.
Poland ranked second among Georgia’s wine export markets, with shipments worth $11.8 million, followed by Ukraine at $8.1 million, China at $6.5 million and Kazakhstan at $5.9 million. Germany ranked sixth with $5.5 million, followed by Belarus at $4.8 million, the United States at $4.4 million, Latvia at $3.7 million and Turkey at $2.5 million.
The figures come as Russia has temporarily restricted imports of certain Georgian-made wines and non-alcoholic beverages. According to Russian media, the restrictions affect products that regulators say do not meet established organoleptic, physicochemical and safety requirements. The listed products include wines made by Teliani Valley, Tbilvino, Askaneli Brothers and Wineman, beer produced by the Georgian Beer Company, Coca-Cola manufactured in Georgia, and Nabeglavi mineral water produced by Healthy Water.
