Armenia's Minister of Justice, Grigor Minasyan, announced his resignation in a statement posted on his Facebook page. In the message, published on October 1, he explained the reasons for his decision and reflected on his tenure as minister.
Minasyan stated that he had submitted his resignation to the Prime Minister. He highlighted the challenges of working within a parliamentary system, particularly when there is a lack of positive cooperation, even with a single member of parliament. According to him, he faced difficulties with about two dozen MPs from the "Civil Contract" ruling faction.
Despite these challenges, the minister emphasized significant achievements in the reform of the justice system over the past two years. He noted that the government’s program, as it pertained to the Ministry of Justice, had been over-fulfilled in terms of both the quantity and quality of initiatives.
Among the key reforms, Minasyan mentioned the creation of a new arbitration system, the reorganization of the enforcement service, the digitization of civil litigation, the establishment of a probation service, and numerous other legislative and strategic changes.
BMG reminds that Grigor Minasyan was appointed Minister of Justice of Armenia in December 2022.
