On November 7, Armenia's Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan presented an extensive project for tax law amendments at a government meeting. Under the new initiative, approximately 10,000 microenterprises will transition from a preferential tax regime to a general tax regime starting July 1, 2025.
The reform will impact various professional service sectors, including legal and accounting firms, consulting companies, architectural and engineering offices, advertising agencies, as well as construction and medical organizations. Small medical clinics and dental offices, which currently operate under a simplified tax system, will also be significantly affected by the reform.
This proposal continues the government’s approach of reducing the microenterprise sector and expanding the general taxation system’s reach.
