Armenia's prime minister Nikol Pashinyan has expressed serious concerns regarding the effectiveness of government inspection agencies and the need to enhance transparency regarding programs implemented by the government.
During the discussion of the report on the activities of government inspection agencies subordinate to the government on March 11, prime minister Pashinyan emphasized that a key issue is to increase the efficiency of control and oversight mechanisms and ensure adequate public awareness of implemented projects. He also highlighted the need to intensify work in the regions, emphasizing that effective management cannot rely solely on office work.
"I cannot comprehend how one can manage issues related to agriculture without leaving the office. Our civil servants should spend a significant portion of their working time directly in the field. Visiting villages and engaging with local residents will provide insight into the real situation and help identify the most pressing issues," stressed the prime minister.
He also expressed concern that many decisions are made without proper consideration of public opinion and regional administration, which could lead to misunderstandings and incorrect actions in the long run.
"It is important for the work of civil servants to extend beyond their offices. I expect ministers and other heads of government agencies to report on work conducted outside their offices. It is crucial to understand that significant decisions are made in the real world, not just behind a desk," concluded the prime minister.
