The Yerevan International Hospitality Forum 2024 kicked off on December 18 in Yerevan, bringing together international experts, investors, and leading professionals to discuss the growing potential of Armenia’s hospitality and tourism industry.
According to the press service of Enterprise Armenia, the forum presented the sector’s development achievements and outlined prospects for its future growth.
During the panel discussion titled “Armenia’s Hospitality Market: Key Challenges and Development Pathways,” the Director General of Enterprise Armenia, Levon Ohanesyan, provided a detailed analysis of investment attraction efforts. He highlighted the foundation’s active collaboration with numerous local and international hospitality companies. Through post-investment services, the organization is currently working with 14 foreign-capital companies and international brands, which have already created approximately 1,000 jobs in the country.
Particular attention at the forum was drawn to information about ongoing investment projects in the tourism industry. Ohanyan noted that 10 investment programs are currently underway, with a total planned investment of approximately $520 million. Additionally, Enterprise Armenia is supporting around 20 other promising investment projects in the sector.
Earlier, BMG reported that Armenia welcomed 2,079,381 international tourists in the first 11 months of 2024. In comparison, 2,195,288 tourists visited the country during the same period in 2023, marking a decline of 121,907 visitors or 5.5%. The primary sources of tourists remain Russia, Georgia, and Iran.
