Armenia's Vice Prime Minister Mger Grigoryan met with the World Bank's Executive Director Eugene Rhuggenaath on April 29, responsible for the group of countries that includes Armenia.
According to the Armenian government's press service, during the meeting, the Vice Prime Minister emphasized the importance of Armenia's cooperation with the World Bank, noting that it is not only a donor organization for the country but also a key partner in implementing important reforms.
During the meeting, the Vice Prime Minister presented the government's vision to the World Bank representative regarding the development of key sectors, including education, healthcare, and the capital market. He also addressed current issues and planned reforms in these areas.
The World Bank (WB) is one of the largest creditors of the Republic of Armenia.
In 2023, Armenia approved an agreement with the World Bank to attract a loan of 92.3 million euros to replenish the budget. The loan is tied to reforms in environmental and anti-corruption policies, as well as human resource development.
