Assistance to socially vulnerable children will increase by GEL 50 from June 1. Instead of the existing GEL 100, assistance for socially vulnerable children will be GEL 150 in Georgia, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced at today’s Cabinet meeting.
As Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili stated at today's Government sitting, the total budget for it will be GEL 341 million this year.
"I want to start talking about the protection of children's rights. As you know, taking care of them and improving their social status is our main duty and we have taken many steps in this direction. A year ago, by my decision, we doubled the assistance to socially vulnerable children, before it was GEL 50 and then it became GEL 100. Today we made a decision to increase the mentioned aid to GEL 150. That is, from June 1, the assistance per child is GEL150 ", - Gharibashvili said.
According to the PM, the decision will affect more than 215 thousand children.
