In the III quarter of 2023, the average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 16.3% (GEL 260.4) compared to the same quarter of the previous year and amounted to GEL 1 855, - reads the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields:
• Information and communication – 3 958.1 Gel (increased by 18.8 percent compared to the
corresponding period of the previous year)
• Construction – 3 033.4 Gel (increased by 31.6 percent)
• Financial and insurance activities – 2 806.7 Gel (increased by 13.4 percent)
• Professional, scientific and technical activities – 2 615.6 Gel (increased by 17.3 percent)
In the III quarter of 2023, the average earnings equaled to 1 459.1 Gel for women, while GEL 2 233.9 for men. The annual growth of earnings amounted to GEL 193.5 (15.3%) for women and GEL 329.1 (17.3%) for men. In all sectors of the economy, the average monthly earnings of men were higher than women’s.
In the III quarter of 2023, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the business sector increased by GEL 293.0 (17.1%) and equaled GEL 2 007. According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in Information and communication (GEL 4 073.1, increased by 18.6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year) and Cunstruction sections (GEL 3 037, increased by 31.8%).
In the III quarter of 2023, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the non-business and financial sector increased by GEL 199 (14.4%) and amounted to GEL 1 579. According to the economic activity the highest monthly
earnings were observed in the Financial and insurance activities.
Tbilisi and Mtskheta-Mtianeti regions are leading regions by amount of the average earnings.
