In 1Q2023, the average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 18.7% (GEL 270.1) compared to the same quarter of the previous year and amounted to 1 GEL 716.6, - according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields:
• Financial and insurance activities – GEL 3 761.1 (increased by 23.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year)
• Information and communication – GEL 3 631.3 (increased by 55.2 percent )
• Professional, scientific and technical activities – GEL 2 386.8 (increased by 21.6 percent)
• Construction – GEL 2 145.5 (increased by 14.7 percent)
In 1Q2023, the average earnings equaled to GEL 1 375.7 for women, while GEL 2 053.4 for men. The annual growth of earnings amounted to GEL 190.9 (16.1%) for women and GEL 358.1 (21.1%) for men. In most sectors of economy, the average monthly earnings of men were higher than women’s.
