In the IV quarter of 2023, the average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 15.3% (270.9 GEL) compared to the same quarter of the previous year and amounted to GEL 2.044,- according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia.
As of the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields:
• Information and communication – 4 309.2 Gel (increased by 17.3 percent compared to the
corresponding period of the previous year)
• Financial and insurance activities – 3 110.0 Gel (increased by 14.1 percent)
• Construction – 3 062.5 Gel (increased by 20.8 percent)
• Professional, scientific and technical activities – 2 920.5 Gel (increased by 19.0 percent)
In the IV quarter of 2023, the average earnings equaled to GEL 1 607 for women, while GEL 2.463 for men. The annual growth of earnings amounted to GEL 195 (13.9%) for women and GEL 340 (16.0%) for men. In all sectors of the economy, the average monthly earnings of men were higher than women’s.
In the IV quarter of 2023, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the business sector increased by GEL 285 (14.9%) and equaled GEL 2 196. According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in information and communication (GEL 4 420, increased by 17% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year) and professional, scientific and technical activities (GEL 3 393, increased by 22.4%).
In the IV quarter of 2023, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the non-business and financial sector increased by GEL 242 (15.9%) and amounted to GEL 1 765. According to the economic activity the highest monthly
earnings were observed in the Financial and insurance activities.
Tbilisi and Mtskheta-Mtianeti regions are leading regions by amount of the average earnings.
